and if obama care has not affected you in a way that is not negative? well, that will not be part of this hearing. look at the local coverage from "the arizona republic." the only four witnesses invited to testify were residents who said they have been negatively affected by the health care program. audience members were not permitted to speak. a group of local seniors gathered outside the hearing in support of health care reform. an arizona department of corrections retiree from apache junction said he hadn't been able to find insurance for his wife, prediabetic and has high blood pressure, until the affordable care act was here. "my income was less than $60,000. through the affordable care act, we can get insurance for less than $300 a month. it is the only hope i have in the world of having health care for my wife." another man said he was sexually assaulted in 2004 and contracted hiv. the affordable care act assures that he can get insurance, despite his pre-existing condition and he can keep it without worrying about a lifetime spending limit. he s

they are not repealing obama care anymore. the house of representatives was back at work today, which is a notable thing. doesn't happen all that often. if you put together all the hours that they are in session this month, they woke up today facing six full days of work for the entire month of december, starting today. six days in a month? oh, man! they're going to be home by december 13th for the year. and they are not planning on spending their precious working moments voting to repeal obama care anymore. since republicans took over the house, they have voted to repeal obama care 46 times! but they have stopped doing that now. since the shutdown, no more repeal obama care votes. repealing obama care now would mean they would be taking insurance from hundreds of thousands of americans. when they come back in january, it will be hundreds of thousands more americans who not just don't have just the promise of health insurance, but who are actually experiencing health insurance coverage, many of them for the first time in their

they didn't want president obama and the democrats to have a legislative win. they didn't like the policy itself. but now the policy itself is in effect. and it means that millions of americans now can get health insurance who could not get it in the past. and millions of americans who did have health insurance in the past should have better and more affordable choices for their coverage. and all the talking about it in washington, if you put it aside, really, the real question is whether this much more under the radar political effort in the states can effectively stop americans from getting insurance that they might really like if only they knew how to do it. joining us, radio host on msn, michael spent eight weeks trying to find insurance options for himself through healthcare.gov before it finally worked this week. michael, great to see you, thank you for joining us. >> thank you, rachel for having me. >> so you had a miserable eight weeks, early experience trying to get through the federal exchange. but now it has worked for you, is that right? >> it is. i

i thought he made the moral case for obama care. for you folks to consider obama care as a measure of community in mesh. that's what motivates barack obama. he knows its tough. the last 15 minutes of this video were extraordinary. i have never seen anything like it. the president unburdened himself to you about why he's in the ball game. and i thought he made a compelling case for his own decency. whatever the screw ups were manager alley, they were real. >> i felt like we saw two interviews with the president. in the first half you saw a man who was incredibly frustrated by what i think as he sees as the smallness of the debate in washington. we don't talk about the big sweeping issues. frustrated incredibly and with the media. but in the second half i saw the guy that i first met in 2004 when he was essentially an activist attempting to use politics to move forward grand issues, grand themes. somebody in league or in line with the way the pope feels about social justice. you saw him stripped prp. >> why did that happen? is it bad
